Seeking an experienced Technical Advisor for Inland Shipping to analyze vessel condition, develop maintenance strategies, and provide expert advice on technical and financial matters.
Project overview
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Analyzing the technical condition, reliability, availability, and remaining lifespan of inland vessels
- Translating analyses into appropriate maintenance management measures
- Preparing and updating vessel-specific risk files
- Preparing estimates for maintenance, renovation, lifespan extension, and replacement
- Providing input for multi-year budgets and investment decisions
- Advising technical inspectors and project teams on complex maintenance issues
- Weighing technical, financial, and operational interests at a tactical and strategic level
- Minimum 5 years of experience with preparing and updating risk files, lifespan forecasts, and maintenance programs
- Minimum 5 years of experience with maintenance of inland vessels
- Minimum 5 years of experience with cost estimations, investment appraisals, and multi-year budgets
- Familiarity with the MARAD maintenance management system
- Knowledge of Asset Management ISO 55000 principles (preferred)
- Knowledge of inland shipping laws and regulations such as Estrin and ADN (preferred)
