Data Governance Expert

Project overview

Coordinate data governance as part of a data transformation:

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Develop the distribution of roles and responsibilities between data stewards and data owners
• Support and coach data stewards and data owners
• Lead the data steward community through meetings, action tracking, and best practice sharing
• Oversee the enrichment of the data catalog and business glossary
• Ensure the quality, consistency, and completeness of metadata
• Promote the use of data governance tools
• Initiate and coordinate the work of data stewards for data quality improvement
• Contribute to the definition of governance policies and guidelines
• Contribute to improving data maturity through a data literacy program
• Master's degree in data, IT, economics, management, or a related discipline
• At least 10 years of experience in a data-related role, including 10 years in data governance within a large organization
• Hands-on experience in setting up and managing a data catalog
• Basic knowledge of SQL, knowledge of DataBricks being an asset
• Operational mastery of data quality and governance tools
• Knowledge of GDPR
• Autonomy, motivation, and excellent oral and written communication skills
• Native Dutch or French, with knowledge of the other national language
