Energy Director (2x)

Project overview

As an energy director, you support energy initiatives in your work area to go from idea to realization. You work on solutions for better utilization of the electricity grid, for example, in case of grid congestion. This can be an individual solution, but also a collective approach, such as an energy hub. You support initiatives in different phases and with various issues. Depending on their needs, you provide intensive guidance or make adjustments. You carry out your work independently and take responsibility for the execution and results.

The province is divided into four areas: Holland-Rijnland, West and Midden-Holland, Rotterdam-Delft-Zoetermeer, and the South Holland islands and Drechtsteden. For this assignment, two directors are sought, each supporting their own area. The division will be determined in consultation at the start.

What will you do?

You will fulfill an independent, advisory, and facilitating role. The responsibility for provincial positions, policy choices, and decision-making remains with the responsible employees within the province.

• Candidate has a minimum of HBO work and thinking level, as evidenced by relevant completed education and relevant work experience
• Candidate has at least 8 years of work experience in the field of energy transition and has demonstrable experience with the energy system
• Candidate has at least 3 years of knowledge of and experience with the functioning of public administration and the associated decision-making processes
• Candidate has a B driver's license and is able to travel to different locations
• Candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience in a steering role on energy projects. This can include, for example, the development of PV projects, but also the establishment of energy cooperatives
• Candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in public-private partnerships Registration requirements (form)
• You will record the priorities you set in the plan of approach and in concrete advisory reports. These will include possible solution directions, preconditions, bottlenecks, and necessary follow-up steps.
• You will share the knowledge gained and products developed with the involved initiatives, municipalities, grid operators, and other relevant stakeholders. These can also be used within the provincial Community of Practice.
• Based on the findings and practical experiences within your work area, you will identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. These will be translated into concrete recommendations for the further development of flanking provincial policy.
