Lead Developer

Project overview

As Lead Developer, you are responsible for the technical leadership of the team, the quality of the software, and the optimization of the development process. You work on modular applications for the secure processing of large amounts of data.

From our base in The Hague, you will work closely with partners, ministries, and implementing organizations such as RIVM, IGJ, and CIBG.

Within the teams, you will have the opportunity to translate policy into social impact, shape complex legislation, and truly make a difference for citizens, patients, and clients.

• You design and review the technical architecture of applications.
• You coach developers with your broad and in-depth technical knowledge.
• You are a substantive sparring partner for the development team and the client and advise on application architecture.
• You make technical choices about tools and improving development processes.
• You apply security by design and privacy by design and ensure that code and architecture meet current security standards.
• You analyze how the team's performance can be further improved and continuously work on that improvement.
• You have at least WO work and thinking level and a completed education in computer science or software engineering
• You have at least 3 years of work experience in technically leading a team in the role of Lead Developer
• You have demonstrable experience with software design (architecture) and code quality
• You have demonstrable experience with C#, Python, and complex data systems
• You have demonstrable experience with building APIs and data connections
• You have demonstrable experience with security & privacy by design
• You have demonstrable experience with backend frameworks
• You have practical experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• You have demonstrable experience with designing and developing with DevOps
• You have very good communication skills
