The Infrastructure Bedrijf of the ICT Service maintains the IT platforms of the National Police. The Cloud and Big Data cluster within the Infrastructure Bedrijf is responsible for the platform for big data and AI. This is a Kubernetes-based private cloud for processing and analyzing data within the police.
The cluster consists of seven Scrum teams, each responsible for products that make up the platform. These products span the entire technology stack, from hardware, through Kubernetes clusters, to SaaS solutions.
In this assignment, you will work within team Space on the new container platform. This is a platform based on Kubernetes. This platform runs in a private cloud environment and on its own hardware (bare metal). You will contribute to the build and development of the platform, and together with your team, you will be responsible for its maintenance. Infrastructure-as-code, automation, and self-service are core concepts that characterize the nature of the work. Additionally, you will support the teams that will migrate to the new container platform.
We are looking for a platform engineer with experience in building and managing on-premise and bare-metal Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with other development and operations teams to realize a robust and scalable container platform.
