Seeking three experienced Senior Consultants for 2nd Level Support of a middleware platform for Java and web applications, focusing on the IBM WebSphere portfolio. The role involves full-time, long-term engagement with a high degree of remote work.

Hello everyone,
For a public sector client, we are looking for three experienced Senior Consultants for the Second Level Support of a middleware platform for Java and web applications (focus on the IBM WebSphere portfolio).
Key Data
- Start: approx. beginning of December 2026
- Duration: until 31.12.2029, option for volume extension
- Utilization: Full-time (40 h/week, Mon–Fri)
- Location: approx. 95% remote (from Germany), occasional on-site in Bonn or Berlin
Responsibilities
Mandatory Requirements (all three individuals)
Additionally Sought (at least one person in the team)
- 2nd Level Support and administration of middleware products
- Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management, ticket processing in Maximo, USU ITSM, and Jira
- Installation of security patches and fixes, evaluation of advisories
- Preparation, execution, and automation of deployments
- WebSphere and Tomcat migrations
- Certificate management
- Configuration and patch management with Ansible
- Troubleshooting, including collaboration with manufacturers
- Development of scripts and frameworks (bash, perl, python/jython, wsadmin)
- Documentation of operating concepts, manuals, and scripts
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience (excluding studies, internships, and working student activities)
- German at least C1, English at least B1
- Administration of WebSphere Liberty, IBM HTTP Server 9.0.5.x, Apache Tomcat *, and Apache HTTPD 2.4
- SSL/TLS certificate management and PKI
- ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release) in Maximo and USU ITSM; Jira
- Ansible, analysis of Java heap and thread dumps
- TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancers, directory services, and IAM (at least 3 years each)
- 5 years of independent operation and support of middleware
- 4 years of script development (bash, perl, jython, wsadmin)
- 5 years of version control for scripts and automation objects
- 3 years of Citrix/VDI environments
- 3 years of Linux (RHEL, SLES), AIX, and Windows Server
- IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5.x / 9.0.5.x
- VMware Cloud Foundation (minimum 1 year)
- Google Distributed Cloud Air-gapped (minimum 1 year, with certificate)
