AI Architect – Microsoft Foundry

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced AI Architect for a global enterprise. This is a 6-month contract position with possible extension in a fully remote format.

In this role, you will design and steer enterprise AI solutions on a modern cloud platform. You will conceptualize intelligent agents, copilots, and RAG applications and securely integrate them with established enterprise applications such as SharePoint, ERP systems, service management tools, data platforms, and business intelligence solutions. You will define architecture standards, create reusable reference patterns, and establish governance policies for prompt engineering, data grounding, and audit requirements.

Your responsibilities include leading technical design reviews, preparing documentation for architecture review boards, optimizing model selection and cost efficiency, and defining operational runbooks and release criteria.

You bring at least 10-12 years of IT experience in enterprise, cloud, or data architecture, AI/ML engineering, or integration. Required are 4+ years of Azure architecture experience and 2+ years of hands-on experience with generative AI, large language models, RAG, or agent-based AI. You have in-depth knowledge of modern cloud AI platforms, secure integration patterns (API management, identity management, OAuth), and AI governance as well as Responsible AI principles. Experience with modern data platforms, Unity Catalog, and vector search is a big plus.
