AI Platform Architect – GenAI, LLM & Agentic AI

Description

For a strategic AI architecture program at a leading Swiss company, we are looking for 2-4 experienced Platform Architects with a focus on AI / Generative AI.

As part of a company-wide transformation program, modern AI platform capabilities and central shared services will be designed, further developed, and integrated into the existing IT landscape.

The focus is on the development of secure, scalable, and reusable platform components for Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and agentic systems.

We are looking for experienced architects who can translate complex technical requirements into concrete platform architectures, service specifications, and implementable solutions.

• Conception and further development of modern AI/GenAI platform architectures
• Architecture design for AI Shared Services such as AI Gateways, Model Hubs, Agent Runtimes, Vector Stores, and Knowledge Management Systems
• Design of platform capabilities for AI Model Management, Agent Execution, Context Provisioning, and AI Connectivity
• Conception of secure and scalable interfaces for LLMs, RAG systems, and AI Agents
• Integration of agentic systems via protocols such as MCP and A2A
• Definition of technical architecture standards, interfaces, and integration concepts
• Conception of AI Observability including tracing, quality monitoring, evaluation, audit trails, and cost transparency
• Consideration of Security-by-Design, IAM, data protection, data classification, and Zero Trust principles
• Specification of functional and non-functional requirements for central platform services
• Technical evaluation and selection of suitable AI technologies, platform products, and frameworks
• Development of self-service approaches for efficient provision and use of AI Services
• Support in creating technical architecture roadmaps and implementation concepts
• Close collaboration with Enterprise Architects, Security Specialists, Platform Engineers, and Development Teams

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in IT architecture with demonstrable experience in AI/GenAI architectures
• At least 2 reference projects in the conception or implementation of AI platforms or shared services
• Profound understanding of LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, and agentic AI systems
• Experience with AI platform components such as AI Gateways, Model Hubs, Agent Runtimes, Vector Databases, and Knowledge Management
• Very good knowledge of cloud architectures with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
• Solid experience with Kubernetes, container technologies, and API management
• Experience with AI Observability, monitoring, tracing, evaluation, and auditability
• Knowledge of relevant technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, or comparable solutions
• Experience in specifying and evaluating platform services based on defined quality and assessment criteria
• Knowledge of AI security risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, and hallucinations
• Experience with Security-by-Design, Identity & Access Management, and data classification
• Ability to document and present technical architecture concepts in an audience-appropriate manner
• Fluent German and good English skills
