Azure Cloud and Platform Specialist

We're looking for a Cloud and Platform Specialist to provide Azure design and architecture expertise on a 6 month remote contract. You'll cover landing zones, networking, identity, virtual desktop, compute and storage, all within an established target architecture and set of standards. You'll be the technical point of reference for MSP and supplier delivery teams, working under the Lead Cloud and Platform Architect and escalating architectural decisions where needed.

Contract Details

• Provide Azure design and architecture expertise across landing zones, networking, identity, virtual desktop, compute and storage
• Act as the technical point of reference for MSP and supplier delivery teams
• Make sure designs and delivery stay within the established target architecture and standards
• Support migration assessment and execution using Azure Migrate
• Shape automation, security, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery approaches
• Escalate architectural decisions to the Lead Cloud and Platform Architect where needed
• Extensive cloud or infrastructure engineering experience, with significant recent hands on Azure work
• At least one enterprise Azure migration, and experience in MSP or supplier delivered environments
• Azure Landing Zones, governance and Azure Policy
• Azure networking, Virtual WAN (vWAN) and hybrid connectivity
• Entra ID, Active Directory, RBAC and DNS
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design and engineering
• Azure VM, GPU and HPC workloads, plus enterprise storage, NAS/Nasuni and large scale data migration
• Azure security, Firewalls and Private Endpoints
• Automation with Terraform or Bicep, PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Azure Migrate, workload assessment and migration execution
• Azure Monitor, backup, disaster recovery and operational support
• AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) and/or AZ-700 (Azure Networking Solutions)
• Desirable: AZ-305, AZ-500 or AZ-140, Zero Trust awareness, exposure to AWS, and experience in regulated, critical infrastructure or energy sector environments
