C/C++ Software Developer for Train Control and Train Tracking

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced software developer for the further development and adaptation of Windows-based inventory software in the area of train control and train tracking. You will contribute to the further development of a solution written in C and integrate it into existing interlocking systems.

Your tasks include the implementation of customer-specific requirements, development in the area of train tracking with tracking of trains based on various interlocking states, as well as the connection and integration of embedded displays for showing train information. You will work with existing software structures and further develop the existing system architecture.

We expect a completed degree in computer science, signal technology, electrical engineering, or a comparable field. Profound knowledge in C/C++ software development is required, as well as experience in hardware-related or embedded programming. You should have experience in software testing and be familiar with development environments such as MS Visual Studio and version control systems such as Git and SVN.

Experience with agile software development is an advantage. We are looking for someone who thinks and acts independently, even if guidelines are not optimal. Good German and English skills complete your profile.

The project has a duration of 6 months and starts in November 2026.
