Job description
Design and develop automotive components, including structural parts and interior/exterior body trim and equipment, for plastic, metal, or composite materials.
Project overview
As a Chassis & Body Parts Design Engineer, you will design and develop automotive components, including structural parts as well as interior and exterior body trim and equipment. You will work on plastic, metal, or composite material parts, from geometric and functional definition to the preparation of technical deliverables.
You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, functional dimensioning, and analyses necessary for evaluating feasibility and tolerancing. You will ensure the robustness of solutions, their compliance with applicable standards, and data consistency within the PLM environment. In liaison with project teams, vehicle architecture, trades, and suppliers, you will contribute to product/process convergence, participate in design reviews and milestones, and monitor quality, cost, and deadline objectives.
Profile
Experience in designing Chassis & Body parts in the automotive sector.
Proficiency in functional and geometric design of multi-material components.
Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD software, and experience with a PLM environment.
Knowledge of GPS functional dimensioning, material strength, and finite element analysis.
Understanding of automotive development processes and ability to work in a transverse project mode with suppliers.
Autonomy, proactivity, dynamism, and a collaborative spirit.
Work Environment
Our client is a player in the automotive sector developing vehicles and their components. Its teams work on design projects where the technical definition of parts must meet functional, mechanical, and industrial requirements, while integrating with the vehicle architecture and associated development processes.
The company's mission is to design and develop reliable, consistent automotive solutions adapted to manufacturing constraints. It relies on collaboration between project teams, technical trades, and suppliers to converge design choices throughout the various development stages.
Its work environment is based on design and technical data management tools, development standards, and structured project monitoring.
