Cloud Engineering / DevOps Consultant

Project overview

For our client in the retail/commerce industry, we are looking for a Cloud Engineering / DevOps Consultant on a contracting basis.

Responsibilities

• Conception and implementation of new infrastructures in Google Cloud and/or Microsoft Azure using Terraform
• Refactoring and expansion of existing cloud infrastructures
• Setup, refactoring, and expansion of Kubernetes environments
• Conception, setup, and further development of on-premises and cloud infrastructures
• Conducting training and knowledge transfer for technical teams

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Hetzner or StackIT)
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps (Argo CD, Flux)
• Very good knowledge of Docker, Linux, and Git
• Good knowledge of CI/CD (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines)
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki)
• Knowledge of Networking & Service Mesh (Cilium, Calico, Istio)
• Experience with Policy as Code (Kyverno, OPA)
• Knowledge of Secrets Management & PKI (HashiCorp Vault, External Secrets, SOPS, cert-manager)
• Experience in Kubernetes Manifest Management
• Sound experience in the conception and implementation of complex cloud and Kubernetes infrastructures
• Ability to communicate technical content understandably and conduct training
• Availability of 3-4 days per week

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NIS2/BSI
• Experience with Ansible
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Redis, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
