- Start: ASAP / ongoing intake (rolling staffing)
- Duration: 3–8 weeks per assignment (varies by project), framework relationship for repeat staffing
- Remote/On-Site: Remote (occasional team co-location in London, Paris or Munich possible)
- Workload: 100%, project-based
- Language: English
- Support commercial due diligence (CDD) for private equity buy-side and sell-side mandates
- Assess target companies' market position, competitive dynamics and growth potential within financial services and fintech sub-sectors
- Conduct expert interviews and primary research with market participants, buyers and industry stakeholders
- Build and validate market-sizing, benchmarking and commercial models
- Translate complex financial services mechanics into clear, deal-relevant conclusions for investment committees
- Contribute directly to due diligence reports and management presentations under tight deal timelines
- Act as a subject-matter sparring partner for junior project team members on FS-specific questions
- Work flexibly across a rotating pipeline of deal engagements, often on short notice
- Must-have: 7+ years of combined commercial/vendor due diligence and strategy consulting experience, with CDD as the dominant share of project experience
- Must-have: Deep, practitioner-level knowledge in at least two (2+) of the following financial services domains: payments, banking & lending, asset/wealth management, insurance, capital markets, FS regtech, FS data & data automation, FS services
- Must-have: Comfortable operating at deal cadence (project cycles of 3–12 weeks) rather than long-form corporate strategy timelines
- Must-have: Background from a top-tier strategy consultancy or comparable (e.g. MBB, Oliver Wyman); Big Four background considered case by case
- Prior exposure to fintech business models and technology-enabled financial services, without requiring deep technical/IT expertise
- Experience presenting findings directly to private equity investment professionals
- Additional language skills (German, French) for select engagements
