Construction Management Specialist Shipbuilding

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced construction manager to oversee and coordinate the construction of special ships at an international location. The position is limited to 14 months and requires full-time on-site presence.

Your tasks include comprehensive plan and contract control throughout the entire construction phase. You are responsible for quality assurance of all execution work in accordance with approved plans and contractual specifications. A key focus is on monitoring occupational safety and fire safety regulations, as well as continuous safety monitoring on the construction site.

Your core responsibilities include identifying and tracking defects, preparing weekly construction progress reports focusing on schedule, costs, quality, and risks, as well as managing changes and coordinating with all involved parties. You will coordinate closely with shipyard management, subcontractors, and the client, acting as a central interface between different departments.

We expect several years of experience in the construction management of special or naval ships, as well as sound knowledge of schedule and budget planning for shipbuilding projects. Interface management between external shipyards, procurement, design, and production should be familiar to you. Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken, are required.

The position requires your willingness for a one-year assignment on-site with a presence of five days a week. Ideally, you bring flexibility and intercultural competence.
