Construction Manager Civil Engineering and Infrastructure in Industrial Environment

Project overview

For our client, we are currently looking for an experienced Construction Manager (m/f/d) for civil engineering and infrastructure measures to support extensive development and renovation projects in an industrial environment.

Our client is planning extensive construction measures, ranging from initial site development to the creation of construction site facilities. The project includes excavation for foundations, laying various utility connections (water, electricity, nitrogen, etc.), comprehensive concrete work (cleaning layers, reinforcement cages), and road and asphalt work. As Construction Manager (m/f/d), you will assume operational responsibility on the construction site and ensure that all requirements of the state building code and the highest safety standards in the industrial environment are met.

• Operational Construction Management: Independent control, monitoring, and acceptance of civil engineering, road construction, and development measures in an industrial environment
• Special Structures & Foundations: Technical leadership in the renovation and expansion of plant foundations, as well as the construction of sealing surfaces and containment basins
• Infrastructure & Development: Coordination of earthworks, trench construction, access roads, and the laying of supply and disposal pipelines (water/wastewater/sewer)
• Ensuring compliance with the state building code to maintain building law responsibility
• Water Protection & Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the proper execution of surfaces and structures according to AwSV (Ordinances on Installations Handling Substances Hazardous to Waters)
• Interface Management: Close collaboration with project management, plant operators, the HSE department (occupational safety), and external subcontractors
• Monitoring of quality, deadlines, and costs, as well as ensuring compliance with VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures), occupational safety standards, and construction schedules
• Successfully completed studies in Civil Engineering (Bachelor/Master/Diploma), training as a state-certified construction technician (specializing in civil engineering), or a comparable qualification
• At least 5 years of practical experience in the construction management of civil engineering and/or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of the state building code and AwSV areas (substances hazardous to water / WHG requirements)
• Experience in industrial, chemical, or refinery plant construction is expressly desired, combined with in-depth knowledge of safety standards in chemical parks
• Confident handling of VOB (Parts B and C) and relevant technical regulations
• Strong safety awareness (HSE)
• Assertiveness, solution-oriented approach, and strong on-site communication skills for coordination with all project participants
