Cyber Security Engineer

Project overview

For a technically demanding environment with high information security requirements, we are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer on a freelance basis. This role combines operational security, technical analysis, risk assessment, and security-related process work.

The position requires an existing enhanced security clearance (SÜ2) as a mandatory prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of security-relevant processes, procedures, and applications
• Detection, assessment, and classification of anomalies in the security environment
• Derivation of countermeasures and escalation paths
• Support with incident response and forensic investigations
• Management and further development of a cyber risk register
• Execution and support of internal audits
• Regular reporting on the security situation and need for action
• Testing of systems against security requirements
• Participation in the development of cyber security processes and technical security solutions
• Further development of analysis, monitoring, and reporting tools

Requirements

• Several years of experience in IT security or information security
• Valid SÜ2 certificate required
• Sound knowledge of security concepts, encryption, and vulnerability analysis
• Confident administration of Windows and Linux systems
• Experience with Python and relevant security tools
• Structured thinking and ability for risk assessment

Project details

Munich, 20% remote possible.

6 months, 80% utilization, starting immediately.
