Data Engineer (ETL Migration)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer for an exciting migration project in the FinTech sector. Our client is modernizing its existing on-premise ETL workloads and relocating them to a secure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for rebuilding and migrating these critical data processing processes.

Your main tasks include redesigning existing ETL jobs for a cloud platform, implementing robust workflow orchestration and scheduling, and establishing comprehensive logging and monitoring practices. The project takes place in a regulated environment where documentation serves as audit evidence – therefore, a security-oriented approach is essential.

We expect the following qualifications: proven experience in migrating on-premise ETL jobs to cloud platforms, sound knowledge in workflow orchestration and scheduling (ideally with Airflow), strong SQL skills, and a pronounced security awareness with solid logging and monitoring practices. Fluent Italian is required.

Experience in compliance-driven or regulated environments, as well as the creation of documentation for audit purposes, is advantageous. Knowledge of dbt is also beneficial.

The project is limited to two months with possible extension and is offered as a freelance engagement. The position is fully remote and open to candidates in Europe. If this challenge appeals to you, we look forward to your application with your current CV.
