Data Engineer Snowflake / Finance Data Platform

Project overview

For a company in the financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with specialization in Snowflake, SQL, and Python.

In this role, you will support the further development of a modern Finance Data Platform. The focus is on integrating financial data into Snowflake, optimizing existing Finance Data Marts, and building scalable, reliable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines from various finance applications and source systems in Snowflake
• Further development of existing Finance Data Marts and underlying data models
• Integration of new finance data sources using modern ETL/ELT technologies
• Ensuring data quality, reliability, and availability
• Analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of data integration problems
• Support of automation, deployment processes, and modern engineering practices (CI/CD, DevOps)
• Close collaboration with finance teams, developers, and technical stakeholders
• Documentation of data flows and technical solutions

Requirements

Position: 100% | Location: Zurich | Duration: 5 months ++ | Start: November 2026

• Several years of practical experience in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing
• Strong expertise in Snowflake and SQL, especially in designing scalable data pipelines
• Solid knowledge in data modeling, ideally Data Vault
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and modern data integration architectures
• Practical experience with Python for data processing and automation
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with financial data, accounting, or controlling is an advantage
• Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working
