Data Scientist (m/f) – Freelance mission in Lille

Project overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist - Freelance (m/f) to join a company in the retail sector, active internationally.

You will join a team dedicated to Data, AI, and governance, which supports business teams in adopting Data and AI solutions with high ROI.

You will work on the entire lifecycle of the solutions, from needs exploration to production.

• Understand business needs: collaborate with business teams to identify opportunities for AI application, and participate in defining objectives, KPIs, and deliverables for each project.
• Explore and prepare data: analyze data, select relevant datasets, and create variables useful for models.
• Design and train AI models: develop Machine Learning and Generative AI algorithms (LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning), evaluate their robustness, and continuously improve them.
• Industrialize and deploy solutions: develop APIs, integrate models into existing systems, and apply MLOps best practices.
• Supervise models in production: ensure performance, scalability, and security, detect drift, and plan retraining or adjustments.
• Ensure added value: collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and AI Engineers, share best practices, and ensure a measurable impact of the solutions for the company.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Solid mastery of Python and SQL.
• Proven experience in designing Machine Learning and Generative AI models.
• Good knowledge of the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Cloud environment.
• Mastery of MLOps practices and industrialization of models in production.
• Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into value-added AI solutions.
• Listening, pedagogical, and interpersonal skills with non-technical stakeholders.
