Data Steward / Master Data Governance Expert

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Steward with a focus on Master Data Governance for an international Life Sciences project. This remote position is initially for 6 months with potential for extension.

Your responsibilities include the management, quality assurance, and harmonization of scientific data. You will work on data cleansing, metadata normalization, and duplicate identification, as well as perform data profiling. A significant part of the role involves utilizing Large Language Models and AI-powered tools for data analysis, classification, and harmonization, and validating their results for scientific accuracy.

We expect at least 3 years of experience in data curation, master data governance, data quality, or data harmonization. An MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific field is required. You should have a deep understanding of chemical and scientific data, metadata, normalization, and unit conversions.

Technical requirements include basic Python scripting skills for data analysis and automation, as well as practical experience with LLMs and AI tools. Knowledge of Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), or other R&D data management systems is advantageous.
