DevOps Engineer AWS & Kubernetes Remote

Project overview

For one of our major clients, we are currently looking for support that meets the following requirements:

Responsibilities

• Operation, monitoring, and technical support of the production application and associated infrastructure in the AWS Cloud
• Monitoring of applications and infrastructure components, as well as analysis and processing of occurring errors and malfunctions
• Processing of security findings and execution of necessary patch and update measures
• Support and further development of automated deployment and configuration of environments using Terraform or OpenTofu
• Support and further development of Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure configurations
• Technical support for the deployment and delivery of containerized applications based on Docker, Helm, and Flux
• Analysis and resolution of problems related to deployments and release processes
• Support and configuration of AWS IAM roles and permissions
• Technical support for connecting and configuring PostgreSQL databases based on AWS RDS
• Setup and management of secrets and encryption mechanisms using AWS Secrets Manager and AWS KMS
• Support and further development of monitoring and logging solutions based on Grafana and OpenSearch
• Support and configuration of Kafka infrastructure based on Amazon MSK Serverless
• Support and optimization of automated node scaling in Kubernetes using Karpenter
• Support and further development of automated dependency and update processes using Renovate
• Development, adaptation, and support of AWS Lambda functions based on Python
• Analysis of technical problems related to infrastructure, deployment, IAM roles, database connections, and secrets, as well as development of suitable solution proposals
• Consolidation and technical further development of the existing infrastructure
• Creation, maintenance, and further development of technical operational documentation, especially runbooks, operational processes, and instructions
• Technical support for the standardization and automation of recurring operational processes
• Technical contribution to the preparation of the application and operational processes for increased requirements regarding availability and operational stability

• 3 years of experience in the operational management of productive IT applications in cloud infrastructures
• 3 years of experience in the configuration and administration of AWS cloud infrastructures
• 3 years of experience with Kubernetes as a container platform for deploying and managing containerized applications
• 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu
• 3 years of experience in operating business-critical applications with established incident management processes
• 3 years of experience with AWS cloud platform expertise
• 3 years of experience with containerized applications, such as Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, or GitOps
• 3 years of experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for automated infrastructure deployment and configuration
• 3 years of experience in monitoring, logging, and technical error analysis
• 3 years of experience with AWS Cloud Security, such as IAM, Secrets, Encryption
• 3 years of experience in IT operations management
• 3 years of experience in deployment and release automation
