Requirements

Project Context:

As part of the closure of data hall B-E7 at DXC Corporate, all IT infrastructure components must be relocated to data hall B-E2. This includes, among other things, an EMC VMAX 250F/FX storage array, which is currently under a support contract with Evernex. The migration will take place in a tightly scheduled window over the weekend *.

• In-depth experience in the operation and management of EMC VMAX storage systems (ideally VMAX 250F/FX or comparable models)
• Proven project experience in datacenter migrations, especially in controlled shutdowns and startups of SAN/storage infrastructures
• Confident use of storage health checks, diagnostic, and monitoring tools to assess system status before and after migrations
• Very good knowledge of integrating storage systems into complex IT environments (VMware, Citrix, physical servers, backup systems)
• Experience working with support service providers (e.g., Evernex) and handling escalating incidents
• Strong communication skills and team orientation for coordination with multiple stakeholders during critical migration windows
• Flexibility and high commitment for weekend work and readiness for short-term problem resolution
• Independent, structured, and results-oriented way of working, even under time pressure

Field of Activity:

• Performing a comprehensive health check of the EMC VMAX 250F/FX storage infrastructure before the migration begins to ensure system stability
• Planning and coordinated execution of the controlled shutdown of the VMAX storage systems on Friday, 13.11., from approx. 8:10 PM in coordination with the client and upstream team
• Accompanying the physical relocation of the storage arrays from data hall B-E7 to B-E2 and checking the professional cabling after the location change
• Controlled startup of the VMAX systems on Saturday, 14.11., from approx. 1:30 PM and performing a detailed health check to rule out transport damage
• Support with the migration of workloads and acceptance tests together with the responsible server and virtualization teams
• Readiness for troubleshooting on Sunday, 15.11., for post-migration problems that may arise within the scope of the existing support contract (Evernex)
• Close communication with the client, the on-site team, and the involved network and system administrators during the entire migration window
• Start: 2026-11
