Lead complex engineering projects from conception to handover, ensuring technical, regulatory, and safety compliance. Manage interdisciplinary teams, technical interfaces, and stakeholders, while overseeing project progress, risks, and quality.
Project overview
- Overall responsibility for the technical planning, control, and implementation of complex projects, considering cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
- Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary engineering teams, as well as management of technical interfaces with internal and external project participants.
- Ensuring the integration of all technical, regulatory, operational, and safety-relevant requirements into project implementation.
- Responsibility for technical standards, engineering processes, governance structures, and quality assurance of all planning and execution services.
- Management of technical decisions, risk and change management, as well as support in claims and change order processes.
- Monitoring of engineering progress, resources, milestones, and technical performance indicators.
- Support of all project phases from conception, procurement, and realization to commissioning and handover.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, standards, approval conditions, and contractual requirements.
- Identification, evaluation, and minimization of technical risks, as well as continuous optimization of processes and methods.
- Professional development of employees, promotion of knowledge management, innovation, and technical best practices.
- Central point of contact for management, project leadership, authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders on technical issues.
- Creation of management reports on project status, technical risks, strategic decisions, and optimization potentials.
- Completed degree in engineering or a comparable technical field.
- More than 10 years of professional experience in the technical project execution of complex large-scale projects with interdisciplinary project teams.
- Sound experience in the technical and organizational leadership of engineering organizations and technical departments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering management, system integration, and project control and execution methods.
- Experience in planning and controlling resources, budgets, schedules, and priorities within demanding project environments.
- Confident use of relevant standards, regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and HSE specifications.
- Demonstrable competence in managing technical risks, interfaces, and stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Experience in international and cross-functional project organizations.
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Additional foreign language skills are an advantage.
- Proof of relevant project experience with solid reference projects, including responsibilities, durations, and project environment.
- Focus on strategic leadership of technical organizations, engineering governance, and project control within large infrastructure and energy projects.
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills in dealing with management, contractors, and other project participants.
