Job description
We are looking for an experienced consultant to design the selection of a suitable PLM system, develop a future-proof target architecture, and create a robust implementation roadmap for the digitalization of a regulated manufacturing environment.
Project overview
For our client, we are looking for an Expert Digital Product Lifecycle & Quality Management.
Project Goal: As part of the digitalization of a previously paper-based and regulated manufacturing environment, an experienced consultant is sought to conceptualize the selection of a suitable PLM system within the project, develop a future-proof target architecture, and create a robust implementation roadmap. A current development project is to be digitally implemented as a pilot from the outset and serve as the basis for the further transformation of development and quality processes.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements in quality management, research and development, software development, and partially manufacturing engineering.
- Evaluate system options independently of manufacturers and create a decision paper for the client's decision-making body.
- Define target architecture with a leading system for each data object: article, bill of materials, variant, document, and batch.
- Conceptualize system integrations with Sage 100 and the existing DMS.
- Conceptualize target process for Manufacturing Bill of Material and work plans: creation in the upstream system and import into Sage 100 in one step.
- Develop implementation plan and technically conceptualize the first implementation step of the pilot project.

- Experience in PLM system selection and conceptualization of target architectures.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing in the medical technology sector and with ISO 13485.
- Practical experience in quality management, document control, and digital product and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of PLM, ERP, DMS, Requirements Engineering, and CAD experience with articles, bills of materials, variants, documents, batches, Manufacturing Bill of Material, and work plans.
- Experience with manufacturer-independent evaluation of system options and creation of decision bases.
- Programming and technical implementation are not part of the role; they will be handled by the selected vendors.
