Expert Linux

Project overview

Context:

As part of industrial projects, we are looking for a Linux expert to accelerate and secure migrations to Oracle Linux 8, from feasibility analysis to production deployment. The mission also includes maintaining the inventory of the park, which feeds the vulnerability scanning tool.

System inventory - migration procedures - operational procedures - progress reports

Profile sought

• Integrate Oracle Linux 8, AlmaLinux, and Ubuntu distributions: installation standards, configuration models
• Connect servers to patch management (Foreman / Orcharhino)
• Identify hosted applications and qualify prerequisites
• Prepare target infrastructures (VMware vSphere, VM templates) and migration procedures
• Perform upgrades and migrations, up to production
• Ensure inventory consistency and automate the reporting of park information
• Propose a suitable storage solution for system inventory
• Write migration and operational procedures, and produce progress reports
• Confirmed Linux expert: Oracle Linux 8 (priority), AlmaLinux, Ubuntu
• Mastery of Ansible, Git, Shell
• Practice of patch management with Foreman / Orcharhino (or Katello / Satellite)
• Good knowledge of VMware vSphere and VM templates
• Operational experience: obsolescence, MCO/MCS, ITIL
• Sensitivity to cybersecurity and vulnerability management
• Autonomous, rigorous, comfortable with writing (documentation) and interacting with project teams
