Expert Make-or-Buy / Insourcing & Outsourcing Manager

Project overview

For our client in Berlin, we are looking for an experienced freelancer (m/f/d) starting in November for the operational implementation of an already developed Make-or-Buy strategy.

The goal of the project is to operationalize the existing strategy together with the relevant specialist departments, derive concrete measures, and drive their implementation. The focus is particularly on evaluating and coordinating insourcing and outsourcing potentials as well as reaching well-founded decisions.

We are looking for a consultant with strong implementation skills who can confidently involve specialist departments, moderate different interests, and translate strategic guidelines into concrete measures and robust decision-making bases.

Responsibilities

• Operationalization and implementation of an existing Make-or-Buy strategy
• Identification, evaluation, and concretization of insourcing and outsourcing measures
• Independent coordination with relevant specialist departments and stakeholders
• Moderation of discussions on Make-or-Buy decisions and driving decision-making
• Creation of well-founded decision-making bases, presentations, and management documents
• Setup and maintenance of reporting for steering and tracking measures
• Tracking of work packages, measures, and decision statuses
• Support in the structured transfer of strategic guidelines into operational implementation plans

Requirements

Framework Conditions

• Demonstrable experience in insourcing and outsourcing projects as well as Make-or-Buy initiatives
• Experience in the operationalization and implementation of strategic concepts
• Confident stakeholder management and experience in collaborating with various specialist departments
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in creating reporting, decision documents, and management presentations
• Analytical, structured, and independent way of working
• Strong communication skills and assertiveness in coordinating and implementing measures
• A consulting background is an advantage, but not a mandatory requirement
