Description

A transmission network operator in the energy sector, based in Berlin, is looking for an experienced consultant for IT Financial & Service Management (ITFM/ITSM) for a project.

The goal of the project is the conceptual further development of the existing IT budget control into an integrated IT Financial and Service Management with an overall IT perspective. Existing structures, processes, and data foundations for budgets, costs, and IT services will be analyzed, standardized, and further developed from a functional perspective. A focus is placed on the traceable linking of IT costs, performance metrics, service usage, and capacities, as well as on cost models, key figures, and control bases for economic efficiency assessments.

• Analysis and documentation of the existing IT budget control, particularly regarding budget planning, forecasting, CAPEX/OPEX allocation, variance analysis, and management reporting, including deriving functional improvement suggestions
• Conception and further development of foundations for IT Financial Management, including cost models, cost allocation methods, economic efficiency assessments, and functional ITFM standards
• Analysis and conceptual further development of IT Service Management regarding service catalog, service lifecycle, performance allocation, and the linking of IT services with cost, usage, and performance data
• Development and documentation of governance foundations for methods, processes, key figures, and control standards within the overall IT, including the presentation of existing deviations and functional harmonization suggestions
• Conception of an integrated data and reporting foundation for budgets, costs, IT services, usage, and capacities, including the description of required data sources, key figures, data relationships, and quality requirements
• Analysis and documentation of project-related interfaces between IT departments, controlling, purchasing, service management, and IT leadership, as well as preparation of functional clarification and decision needs
• Identification and evaluation of standardization, optimization, and automation potentials, including the documentation of benefits, prerequisites, dependencies, and possible implementation options
• Creation of project-related result documentation and decision proposals for the addressed topic areas, including traceable recommendations, assumptions, and open points
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project experience in IT Financial Management, IT Controlling, or IT Budget Control
• Profound knowledge in ITFM and ITSM
• Demonstrable knowledge in at least one relevant framework, e.g., ITIL, TBM, or FinOps
• Experience in developing cross-departmental control models and structures
• Profound experience with reporting, BI, and data-based control models
• Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1)
• Several years of project experience in IT Controlling, IT Budget Control, and IT Financial Management (ITFM)
• Profound experience in budget planning, forecasting, and CAPEX/OPEX considerations in the IT environment
• Demonstrable experience in the conception of cost models, cost allocations, and economic efficiency assessments
• Profound knowledge in IT Service Management (ITSM) as well as in structuring service catalogs and service lifecycles
• Practical experience with relevant governance and control frameworks, especially ITIL, TBM, and/or FinOps
• Experience in the conception of reporting, BI, and data-based control models for IT costs, budgets, and services
• Experience must be proven by personal project references (no older than 3 years)
