Job description
Seeking an experienced MacOS Tester for a full remote position, focusing on QA and software testing of a newly developed product. The role involves in-depth analysis of macOS components, network testing, and test automation.
Project overview
For one of my best clients in software development, I am currently looking for a dedicated and experienced MacOS Tester who enjoys testing a newly developed product and engaging with it thoroughly.
Responsibilities
Execution of QA and software tests for macOS applications, including functional, regression, and compatibility tests.
Analysis of macOS system components and security mechanisms, e.g., Plists, sandbox containers, and TCC permissions.
Execution of network and VPN tests, including trace analysis and troubleshooting.
Execution of backup, reset, and recovery scenarios under macOS.
Creation and execution of automated tests with Appium, command-line tools, AppleScript/JavaScript, and Xcode.
Collaboration with developers and agile teams, considering MDM policies and iOS/Android compatibility.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a macOS or iOS QA Engineer/Software Tester
MacOS expertise, profound knowledge of macOS (e.g., Library file storage, Plist files, sandbox containers) and security mechanisms (e.g., TCC permissions)
In addition to in-depth network knowledge, proficiency with network tools/traces and macOS backup reset should also be no problem.
Profound knowledge in VPN infrastructures, experience with VPN tools under macOS (e.g., Tunnelblick or similar).
Proficient use of macOS command-line tools (e.g., xcrun) and Xcode analysis methods (e.g., Instruments, UI tests).
Good knowledge in test automation with Appium (Mac2Driver).
Scripting knowledge (AppleScript / OSA, Javascript).
