Hi everyone,

For an established company with a strong e-commerce business, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Payment Strategy Consultant to evaluate the existing payment landscape and develop a robust roadmap for future direction together with the business unit.

• Start: December or New Year at the latest
• Initial duration: approx. 3 months
• extension likely with good collaboration
• Utilization: from 32 hours/week relevant
• Remote share: high & possible, individual appointments on-site by arrangement
• Focus of the first phase: Audit, Business Case, Strategy and Roadmap

• Analysis of the existing payment landscape and current processes
• Evaluation of existing and potential payment providers and payment methods
• Comparison of different payment options such as PayPal, direct debit, prepayment, Klarna, Wero or TWINT
• Assessment of the impact on conversion, customer growth, customer experience, costs, and operational processes
• Creation of business cases and decision-making bases
• Analysis of possible interactions between different payment methods
• Classification of current market and industry developments in e-commerce payments
• Development and prioritization of a strategic payment roadmap
• Definition of concrete work packages for later technical implementation
• Several years of experience in Payment Strategy, E-Commerce Payments, or Payment Consulting
• Experience in selecting and evaluating payment providers and payment methods
• Must have: Background in e-commerce, retail, or omnichannel
• Experience with business cases, conversion, and customer journey considerations
• Very good understanding of current payment methods and market trends
• Experience in developing strategic roadmaps
• Basic technical understanding of payment integrations and provider connections
