Job description
Develop and refine the category strategy for procurement in the energy sector, focusing on cost reduction, capacity assurance, and harmonized supplier structures.
Project overview
+ Analysis of existing approaches and development of recommendations for the further development of the Category Strategy. The strategy should address three central objectives: + Reduction of the cost position across the entire category + Ensuring capacity and delivery capability against the backdrop of increasing expansion volumes + Harmonization and controllability of awarding, lot, and supplier structures across the network companies.
+ Development of recommendations for suitable procurement and awarding models per sub-category, including framework agreements, project business, turn-key/EPC approaches, and hybrid models. Furthermore, the contractor will develop proposals for a smart lot logic, particularly regarding the separation of trades, the bundling of multiple substations, and possible multi-lot scenarios. + To further develop the Category Strategy, options for bundling or regionalization will be evaluated based on purchasing power, market structure, and capacity impact.
+ Recommendations for the segmentation and further development of the supplier landscape as well as for the design of supplier roles as pure executors or strategic partners. + Development of approaches for long-term capacity assurance and optimization of value chain depth. + Evaluation of capacity reservation models, supplier development approaches, early awarding strategies, as well as the analysis of suitable models for the selective expansion or development of internal capacities. + Creation of recommendations for the balance between standardized technical requirements and necessary regional flexibility.
+ The contractor analyzes and evaluates benchmark and best-practice approaches from comparable industries and programs, examines their transferability to the specific requirements of the category, and derives concrete action options and solution approaches from them. Existing strategies and assumptions should be specifically confirmed, supplemented, or critically questioned.
