Freelancer CAD Designer / Technical Draftsman – Plant Engineering | Berlin | 100% Onsite

Project overview

For a demanding plant engineering project in the energy sector, we are urgently looking for an experienced freelance CAD designer / technical draftsman to support the ongoing construction phase of a heating power plant in Berlin.

The project is already in the construction phase. The existing piping isometrics have already been implemented. Due to interim changes, the existing drawings and isometrics must now be checked, adjusted, and updated to the actual current state of the plant.

As regular site inspections and close coordination with project stakeholders are required for this, full onsite presence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Checking and updating existing piping isometrics based on the current actual status on site
• Adjusting and revising existing 2D CAD drawings in plant engineering
• Creating and editing construction drawings, floor plans, sections, and detail drawings
• Producing and maintaining technical drawings for piping, steel structures, and supporting structures
• Conducting regular site inspections to record and document structural changes
• Coordinating with involved project managers and departments
• Supporting technical planning and project-related documentation

• Sound experience as a CAD designer, technical draftsman, or comparable role
• Experience in plant engineering, ideally in power plant or pipeline construction
• Very good knowledge of AutoCAD (2D)
• Knowledge of Navisworks
• Experience with piping isometrics and their adaptation to the actual construction status
• Understanding of technical drawings, floor plans, sections, and detail constructions
• Willingness for full onsite presence in Berlin
• Good German language skills
• Short-term project start
• Duration until the end of March 2027
• 100% workload, five days a week
• 100% onsite in Berlin, no remote option
• CAD licenses and hardware will be provided
