Freelancer VMware to Proxmox Migration | Infrastructure & Storage / 18 Months+

Project overview

For a long-term infrastructure project, we are looking for an experienced freelancer with a focus on virtualization, server and storage infrastructures, as well as VMware to Proxmox migrations.

Responsibilities

RequirementsMust-have

• Operation, administration, and further development of complex storage systems (including Dell EMC)
• Migration of existing storage solutions to Software-defined Storage
• Operation and optimization of server environments based on VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox VE
• Planning and execution of VMware to Proxmox migrations
• Execution of system, firmware, iLO, and iDRAC updates
• Support of backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Integration and optimization of monitoring systems
• Analysis and processing of incidents in 2nd and 3rd level support
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Participation in license management
• Support with project planning, project management, and forecast and budget topics
• Coordination with specialist departments, service, and service providers
• Continuous development of the infrastructure according to technical and functional requirements
• Several years of practical experience in operating DELL, HPE, and Fujitsu servers
• Proven experience with the integration and operation of servers in VMware vSphere environments
• Proven experience in operating and setting up Proxmox VE infrastructures
• Several years of experience in VMware to Proxmox migrations
• Very good knowledge in the area of Backup & Disaster Recovery with Veeam
• Experience in customer environments with more than 20 hosts
• Experience in 2nd and 3rd level support
• Good knowledge of storage technologies and software-defined storage concepts
• ITIL knowledge
• Driving license class B
• Own vehicle for onsite assignments

Project details

Important: A personal vehicle is required for onsite assignments to reach various customer locations. Travel time and driving within the service area must be considered in the daily onsite rate.
