Fullstack Developer (Senior) – Kotlin & React, Microservices in the Cloud

Engagement exclusively through a company: either through your current employer on a contracting basis or directly through us for the project duration. Sole proprietors and non-contributing functions cannot be considered.

For an ongoing project, we are looking for reinforcement in the development of a single-page application in a microservice architecture for cloud operation. The focus is on Kotlin in the backend and React in the frontend, working in a DevOps team with a strong focus on Domain-Driven Design, test automation, and UX. The activity is 100% remote from Germany, i.e., onshore, without onsite appointments.

There are two possible ways of collaboration:

Collaboration as a sole proprietor or in a non-contributing function, such as a managing director of your own company, is not possible. Please refrain from applying in these cases.

An application is only meaningful if almost all requirements are met, meaning at least 90 to 95 percent of the must-have and should-have criteria. Profiles that are significantly below this cannot be pursued. Please check this honestly beforehand before contacting us.

• Hourly rate: €70 remote + travel expense allowance
• Duration: 03.11.2026 to 31.10.2029, long-term perspective with around 220 person-days per year
• German at native level
• You are already an employee of a consulting or IT service company that offers you to us on a contracting basis.
• Or you join our team directly for the project duration if the former does not apply to you.

Responsibilities

• Building and evolutionary further development of a microservice architecture matching the business domain using Domain-Driven Design methods
• Driving the technological strategy as well as architectural-technical knowledge exchange, innovation, and standardization in the project
• Consulting on the implementation of the technical architecture in software development
• Implementation of technical components based on microservice architectures, Spring, AWS, messaging, and Kotlin, including interfaces, modules, and databases
• Implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines based on GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, and OpenShift (Kubernetes)
• Ensuring largely automated, stable application operation with continuous improvement of architecture, processes, and tools

• Software development and application architecture in the backend: Kotlin development within an Application Design, such as Ports & Adapters or IODA (min. 5 years)
• Software development and application architecture in the frontend: Programming and architecture knowledge, at least with React (min. 5 years)
• Practical experience with agile engineering practices (min. 5 years)
• Experience with cloud-based and containerized infrastructure in microservice architectures (min. 5 years)
• Methodological and technological knowledge with DevOps (min. 5 years)
• Practical experience with methods and tools of strategic and tactical Domain-Driven Design (min. 2 references)
• Practical experience with the Docs-First approach, such as Docs-as-Code or Spec Driven Development (min. 2 references)
• Practical experience with monitoring using Prometheus (min. 5 years)
• Practical experience with Spring Boot (min. 5 years)
