GCP Data Engineer / ML Platform Engineer (BigQuery, Airflow, Python, Vertex AI/Gemini)

Project overview

Contract role in Europe for a senior engineer to design and deliver high-performance data platforms and agentic/ML solutions on Google Cloud. The role requires strong hands-on data engineering (BigQuery, ingestion, detokenization, Airflow, Python) plus experience with GCP services (AlloyDB, GCS, GKE, Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI/Agent Platform). You’ll also automate infrastructure provisioning and build CI/CD and DevOps/MLOps pipelines, supporting customer projects end-to-end. English is required plus French, Spanish, or German; Google Cloud Professional ML Engineer certification is required.

Responsibilities

• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying high-performance data platforms and Agentic solutions
• Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects through to completion
• Strong Python coding skills (including data structures, algorithms, and system/software design)
• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps/MLOps, and CI/CD pipelines
• Google Cloud Professional ML Engineer certification
