Your area of responsibility

SIGNAL IDUNA plans to further expand its cloud platform and infrastructure and is looking for experienced and highly motivated IT specialists in the field of cloud engineering/architecture with a focus on Google Cloud. As part of the team, you will be responsible for building and operating a Terraform-based infrastructure that enables simple and automated migration of workloads. You will work in an agile, interdisciplinary team with the opportunity to further develop your own competencies and skills.

• Conception, support, and operation of cloud architectures in the course of our workload migrations in Google Cloud
• Further development and continuous improvement of the Google Cloud platform with a focus on virtual machines (Compute Engine)
• Creation, implementation, and optimization of framework concepts for cloud-based infrastructures and applications
• Prioritization and classification of requirements in the backlog and roadmap of the VM platform
• Close contact with technical product managers to persuade them to migrate their applications through in-depth knowledge of cloud benefits
• Establishment of standardized processes and mechanisms as well as consulting on the implementation and commissioning of workloads in Google Cloud
• Use of modern methods for automation, deployment (CI/CD), and further development of complex infrastructures and services in the public cloud
• have a completed IT degree or a comparable qualification with IT expertise
• have relevant experience in public cloud (AWS, Azure, preferably GCP) and Terraform (IaC)
• have experience with version control systems such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket
• have basic knowledge in the administration and management of Linux and Windows servers and in the areas of networks and load balancers
• are familiar with the use of Docker, Bash, and Powershell, as well as Python as a programming language
• are willing to define clear responsibilities and distinguish between tasks of your own team and other departments
• ideally have knowledge of industry standards, security concepts, guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements from the insurance and financial sector
• ideally already have cloud certifications. We are happy to train you in this regard. Willingness to participate in training to acquire knowledge and successfully certify it is important
• are a team player and have strong communication skills (fluent in German and very good in English)
