GIS ARCHITECT - LIMBURG - 12 MONTHS CONTRACT

Project overview

The GIS Architect is responsible for defining and monitoring the strategic GIS architecture within the organization. He or she translates business objectives into a future-oriented technical vision and ensures that GIS solutions remain scalable, secure, and maintainable.

The architect develops standards for data models, integrations, services, and application architecture and monitors the coherence of the entire GIS landscape. He or she advises on technical choices within the Esri platform and assesses the impact of new technologies on the existing environment. An important area of focus is the integration of GIS with other business systems such as SAP and document management solutions. The GIS Architect supports the modernization of the landscape by guiding the transition to Feature Services, Utility Network, and modern web-based GIS solutions.

Furthermore, he or she draws up technical guidelines for migrations, security, performance, and management. The architect works closely with business stakeholders, project managers, developers, and external suppliers. He or she takes a leading role in complex implementation projects, monitoring the technical quality of the solutions. Thanks to his or her knowledge of utility companies, he or she understands the challenges surrounding asset management, network information, and operational processes.

In addition, he or she identifies opportunities for digitization and automation and translates these into concrete architectural choices.

The GIS Architect acts as a technical point of reference for the project team and actively contributes to knowledge sharing and standardization within the organization. His or her expertise ensures that investments in GIS technology align maximally with the long-term strategy of the organization.
