GIS Software Developer (QGIS & Python)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced GIS Software Developer specializing in QGIS and Python for a full-time project in the field of Geographic Information Systems. The project runs from 01.01.2027 to 31.12.2027 and can be carried out entirely remotely from Germany.

In this role, you will develop software applications according to functional requirements and advise the client on technical implementation. You will work in an agile environment using SCRUM methods and participate in regular project meetings. Your tasks include coordination with project managers and subject matter experts, writing clean and documented code according to best practices, and creating delivery packages for applications.

The following requirements are mandatory: at least 3 years of experience in developing QGIS plugins with Python (PyQGIS/PyQt), knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS integration, experience with Qt6-related plugin customizations or Headless QGIS development, proven projects in the transport and logistics sector, and experience with authentication and security measures in the QGIS environment.

Additionally, the following are advantageous: independent development of specialized QGIS plugins (with 3 references), knowledge of cartography and layer design, experience with OGC services (WFS, WMS, OGC API Features), a Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics or Computer Science, and experience with versioned development using Git.
