GMS Systems Analyst

Project overview

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and support EMS environments, including upgrade and testing systems

Monitor EMS applications and infrastructure to maximize system availability and performance

Integrate, configure, and maintain EMS-related applications and supporting technologies

Perform structured and unstructured testing, document results, and log defects using defect-tracking tools

Collaborate with business leads, project managers, technical teams, and vendors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues

Coordinate the installation, testing, and deployment of software releases, patches, and defect fixes across multiple environments

Perform system administration functions on Linux and Windows operating systems

Manage database updates, upgrades, and maintenance activities within EMS environments

Execute code builds, software migrations, and application deployments

Support EMS acceptance testing for new and enhanced applications

Develop, maintain, and review technical documentation, system procedures, and operational guides

Respond to system outages, operational incidents, and user inquiries on a 24/7 support basis as required

Troubleshoot EMS systems, applications, interfaces, and real-time data collection processes

Support market participants and internal business units by resolving technical issues and implementing system changes

Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery exercises

Evaluate the operational impact of proposed system modifications and maintenance activities

Proactively identify system design issues and recommend corrective actions and improvements

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system effectiveness, reliability, and performance

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Linux, Windows Server, Oracle Database, or related system administration certifications

ITIL

CompTIA Server+

Energy Management System (EMS) or utility industry certifications
