This contract role will design, develop, and maintain industrial SCADA/MES applications using the Ignition platform. The key requirements are Ignition Designer experience with Perspective and Vision, SCADA, Python scripting, SQL with MySQL or MSSQL, industrial connectivity, and reusable UDT-based tag structures; Web Dev module and REST API capability are also specified. Responsibilities
- Networking & IT/OT Integration: Knowledge of network architectures to ensure secure and reliable data flow between factory floor and enterprise-level systems.
- Security: Implementation of best practices for Ignition security, including user authentication, role-based access control, and secure API design within the Web Dev module.
- Process Knowledge: Understanding of industrial operations (e.g., OEE, manufacturing processes) to build meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools.
Requirements
- Ignition Designer and Ignition platform development, including Perspective and Vision
- SCADA application development and maintenance
- Ignition Web Dev module and RESTful API development
- Python scripting for component customization, event logic, and automation
- SQL for data logging, reporting, transaction groups, and stored procedures; MySQL and/or MSSQL
- Industrial protocol configuration and PLC/device integration, including OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus
- Ignition tag and view design, including reusable User Defined Types (UDTs)
- BE/B.Tech qualification and 3 years of relevant experience within 5–6 years of overall experience
