Engineer Onshore Cable Laying - Offshore Grid Connection

Project overview

We, emagine, are looking for an experienced engineer for a large offshore grid connection project for our partner. The project connects an offshore wind farm northeast of Rügen to the German power grid with 1 GW. You will be responsible for planning, technical coordination, and monitoring of cable laying on land. Approximately 90% of the work can be done remotely.

Responsibilities

• You will create and review cable laying concepts, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
• You will coordinate with cable manufacturers, construction companies, and other contractors
• You will coordinate the interfaces between cable installation, civil engineering, substations, and other trades
• You will monitor construction progress, deadlines, and technical execution
• You will identify technical risks and delays and derive countermeasures
• You will check compliance with technical standards, permits, and contractual requirements
• You will prepare status reports, technical assessments, and recommendations for action for our partner

Requirements

• Completed degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in onshore power cable laying projects
• Demonstrable experience in pulling cables into conduits (Cable Pulling)
• At least 2 years of experience in projects for a transmission system operator (TSO) or a comparable plant operator
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken
