Interim AI Engineer (Azure / GenAI)

Project overview

As an AI Engineer, you will contribute to the further development of an AI solution for the automatic analysis of environmental permits.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Build and improve GenAI solutions within Microsoft Azure
• Set up and realize AI workflows suitable for production
• Apply prompt engineering for reliable results
• Extract information from permit documents
• Increase the quality and reproducibility of AI outcomes
• Realize data pipelines in Databricks for processing and enrichment of permit data
• Prepare large amounts of document data in Databricks for AI and LLM applications
• Develop scalable backend solutions in Python
• Set up and maintain CI/CD processes
• Collaborate with functional experts and internal colleagues
• Share knowledge about AI possibilities with colleagues
• Advise on Azure architecture, security, and management
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar data-oriented software development
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Generative AI and LLM solutions
• Demonstrable Bachelor's or Master's work and thinking level (beta/technical profile)
• Thorough knowledge of Python, including software design patterns and coding standards
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions and Azure AI Foundry
• Experience with prompt engineering
• Experience with CI/CD processes, GitHub Actions, and Terraform
• Experience with Data Engineering in Databricks
• Bonus: experience with entity extraction and document processing via Azure AI Foundry
• Bonus: experience with Docker and Azure Container Apps
• Bonus: experience with FastAPI
• Bonus: knowledge of Azure Networking and Security
