devicenow is an internationally active provider of Device as a Service with headquarters in Weingarten and further locations in Europe and the USA. We employ nearly 100 people and work with a central fulfillment provider.

Starting Situation

Our Data Warehouse and Power BI reporting are currently operated by an external partner. They process raw data from the systems we use, including order processing, ERP, and accounting, and provide reports via a Power BI app.

Key figures and calculation logic have grown over time and are not consistently documented.

We want to build and manage our data and reporting landscape ourselves in the future. Our partner will then take on the role of a data supplier. Prospectively, we will also operate individual systems ourselves, thereby generating data.

Project Goal

At the end of the project, we will know which key figures we need for steering our company, what raw data is required for this, in what form, granularity, and frequency it needs to be delivered, how this data must be stored, and what processing is necessary.

On this basis, we can issue a binding data delivery specification to our partner and plan the development of our own data and reporting landscape.

The requirements should be formulated in a way that they apply regardless of whether data comes from the partner or from our own systems.

• Strong interviewing skills and persistence, including with external partners
• Technical understanding to comprehend existing logic in Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and SQL
• Independent, thorough working style and structured documentation
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken, and fluent German
• Experience with insourcing or provider change projects in the data environment is desirable
