Interim Engineering Lead

Project overview

For my client, I am currently looking for an experienced Interim Engineering Lead (m/f/d) who will lead an existing tech team in a high-growth product organization and provide both technical and strategic impetus.

Framework:

• Start: Mid-November
• Duration: 3 months ++ (option for long-term collaboration or takeover)
• Workload: Full-time
• Remote component: predominantly remote
• On-site: approx. every 2 weeks on-site
• Contract type: Freelance

Responsibilities

Technological Environment:

• Leadership and management of several development teams
• Responsibility for delivery, quality, and technical excellence
• Close collaboration with management and stakeholders
• Promotion of a data-driven and results-oriented engineering culture
• Establishment of accountability structures within the teams
• Support in technical and organizational decisions
• Java
• Mobile Development
• DevOps
• AWS / Amazon Stack
• Modern cloud and software architectures

• Several years of experience as Engineering Lead, Head of Engineering, or comparable
• Very good technical understanding in modern software environments
• Demonstrable experience in leading larger development units
• Strong focus on delivery, scaling, and operational excellence
• Experience in data-driven work and KPI-based management
• Ability to communicate technical topics appropriately to C-level management
• Experience in modern AI-first environments
• Fluent German and English
