Interim Finance AI Engineer – AI Agents & Automation in Finance On-site

Project overview

For a client, we are looking for an experienced Interim Finance AI Engineer (m/f/d) starting immediately.

Framework Conditions

• Start: short notice
• Duration: 6 months
• Utilization: Full-time
• Location: on-site in Mannheim or Munich
• Language: fluent English; German an advantage

Responsibilities

• Identification of meaningful AI and automation use cases in Finance and implementation into productively usable solutions
• Conception, development, and introduction of AI Agents and automated workflows in Accounting, Finance Operations, and Order-to-Cash
• Integration of automated controls, exception handling, and audit trails for quality, reliability, and compliance
• Support of Finance teams in the practical introduction and daily use of the solutions
• Administration of Finance systems and integration with NetSuite as the central ERP
• Work with multiple accounting books (IFRS, Management Accounting, Local GAAP, Tax GAAP) and integration of other systems such as HubSpot

Please also mention specific AI or automation solutions you have implemented in Finance processes and your experience with NetSuite.

• Strong technical implementation competence: You develop and operate automations and AI agents yourself
• Good understanding of operational Finance processes, such as accounting, Order-to-Cash, or month-end closing
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, and workflow automation
• Awareness of controls, traceability, and audit security in Finance processes
• Builder rather than strategist: You deliver runnable solutions, not just concepts
• Entrepreneurial thinking, high pace, and enjoyment in rethinking existing processes; a background exclusively from corporate or mid-sized companies is usually less suitable
• Short-term availability and the ability to become effective quickly with minimal onboarding
• Willingness to collaborate on-site with the teams in Mannheim
• Experience with NetSuite (administration, SuiteScript, or integrations)
• Experience in SaaS, VC, or PE-funded scale-ups, preferably in phases of strong growth or international expansion
• Experience with the integration of acquired companies into Finance systems
