The role involves structuring the finance function, strengthening balance sheet analysis, and establishing routines for closing, budgeting, and board reporting.
Project overview
Interim Search has been entrusted to appoint a senior and operational Interim Finance Manager for a leading national industry organization within critical infrastructure. The business operates through a service company that manages member revenue, commercial services, and government preparedness assignments with a large and complex balance sheet.
After a period of strong growth, the finance function now needs professional tightening and long-term structuring. As Interim Finance Manager, you will create order and clarity, strengthen balance sheet analysis, and establish secure routines for closing, budgeting, and board reporting. Great emphasis is placed on your judgment and ability to build structure and create stability.
You will report directly to the CEO.
Main Responsibilities
To be considered for the role
We are looking for a hands-on, analytical, and confident Finance Manager with documented experience in structuring finance functions in companies that have grown rapidly from a smaller scale.
About the process
- Closing & Reporting: Operationally responsible for and ensuring the preparation of annual accounts, quarterly reports, and monthly reconciliations for both the parent association and the service company.
- In-depth Balance Sheet Analysis: Actively analyze, understand, and structure all components of the balance sheet – especially related to government project funds, inventory of preparedness materials, and provisions.
- Budget & Forecast: Drive and structure the budget and forecast process adapted to a member and project-financed model.
- Structure & Process Development: Build clear, sustainable routines and financial control processes to support the organization's continued growth.
- Board & Management Support: Establish and present concise financial documentation to management and the board.
- Experience from member/association-owned companies: Good understanding of the logic behind member revenue, fee models, project accounting, and service fees.
- Strong in Balance Sheet & Operational Accounting: You have a holistic view but are not afraid to dive into the details at the line level in both the income statement and balance sheet.
- Change Leader in the small: Experience in establishing structure, improving reporting lines, and creating predictability in fast-paced organizations.
- Presence & Communication Skills: As the assignment requires close collaboration with the office, working on-site at the office in Stockholm during the contract period is expected.
- The position is full-time and the work is performed on-site in Stockholm.
