Interim Financial Accountant - Hybrid Berlin

Project overview

For a growing company in the renewable energy sector, we are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant starting immediately.

The company develops and operates solar solutions for commercial and large-scale properties – from plant construction and operation to storage solutions, power supply, and billing. You will support operational accounting and create a reliable basis for the upcoming closing activities.

Responsibilities

Takeover and stabilization of ongoing financial accounting

Processing of outgoing invoices generated by Salesforce and booking incoming invoices in the existing FMA system

Reconciliation and cleanup of accounts, as well as clarification of incomplete or incorrect accounting data

Structured preparation of existing Excel documents and ensuring comprehensible booking bases

Support with intercompany reconciliations within a structure of holding, construction and operating companies, and several project companies

Preparation of year-end closing documents with an intended completion by March/April

Collaboration with the external accounting firm, tax advisor, and internal contact persons

Documentation of processes and support in building reliable accounting processes

Requirements

Several years of operational experience in financial accounting, ideally as a financial or balance sheet accountant

Good knowledge of HGB (German Commercial Code) and practical experience in preparing year-end financial statements

Proficiency in accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as account reconciliation and data cleanup

Very good Excel skills and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing accounting systems

Structured, independent, and pragmatic way of working

Experience in a dynamic startup or growth environment and the ability to set clear priorities even under high time pressure

Very good German skills and basic English skills

Short-term availability and willingness to collaborate on-site in Berlin

Desirable

Experience with multiple companies, intercompany matters, or project companies

Industry knowledge in renewable energies, plant construction, or project-based business models

Experience with Salesforce or FMA

Experience with ERP system changes, ideally to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NetSuite
