Interim Head of Engineering – Pharma Production

Project overview

For an established pharmaceutical company in Bavaria, we are looking for an experienced technician or engineer with leadership experience to take over the interim management of the engineering team. This role combines responsibility for ongoing operations with the demanding phase of qualifying and commissioning new production areas.

Your responsibilities include the disciplinary and operational management of the technical team as well as the coordination of external service providers. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of existing production facilities and building infrastructure, especially ventilation and electrical systems. Furthermore, you will technically lead the commissioning and qualification of new cleanrooms and production lines.

Another focus is on ensuring complete, GxP-compliant technical documentation as well as preparing for audits and inspections. You will manage technical changes through structured change management and drive continuous improvements.

You bring: a completed apprenticeship as a state-certified technician, master craftsman, or an engineering degree (electrical engineering, building services engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar). Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, medical technology, or similarly highly regulated cleanroom environments are required. You combine leadership competence with a distinct hands-on mentality and possess sound knowledge in creating technical documentation according to applicable regulatory standards.
