Interim Head of IT

Responsibilities

Technical and disciplinary leadership of an IT department with approx. 100 employees

Ensuring stable IT operations and the availability of business-critical clinical systems

Management and further development of the hospital information system Orbis (Dedalus)

Responsibility for ongoing IT projects, including prioritization and resource management

Contact person for management, chief physicians, nursing management, and departments on all IT-relevant issues

Management of external service providers, software partners, and providers

Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (including KRITIS, IT Security Act, and data protection)

Reporting to management regarding status, risks, and recommended actions

Preparation of a structured handover to the future IT leadership

Must-haves

Several years of experience as Head of IT, IT Manager, or in a comparable leadership role

Demonstrable leadership experience with larger IT teams

Mandatory practical experience with the hospital information system Orbis (Dedalus)

Experience in operating complex IT landscapes, ideally in the hospital or healthcare sector

Very good knowledge of hospital IT processes and handling of data protection and patient data

Experience in IT security, KRITIS, and regulatory compliance

Experience in project management, change management, and service provider management

Willingness to work on-site four days a week

Availability for a short-term project start

Nice-to-haves

Experience in interim or transformation mandates

Knowledge of handling medical technology interfaces

Experience in direct exchange with management and clinical departments

Experience in managing complex change processes

High decision-making ability and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach

In this key role, you will be responsible for the entire IT organization, ensuring stable IT operations and the continuation of strategic and operational IT topics during the transition phase.

You will lead an IT team of around 100 employees and report directly to management or administrative leadership.
