Introduction

For the operational bridging and further development of our logistics site, we are looking for an experienced

Interim Manager or Freelancer as Head of Operations Warehouse Logistics (m/f/d).

• Operational Area Management: Technical and disciplinary management of a sub-area of warehouse logistics (100–200 employees) across multiple shift supervisors and managers (Inbound, Put-away, Picking, Outbound).
• Shopfloor Management & KPI Steering: Active pacing of daily shift operations, continuous performance monitoring, and leveraging productivity potentials based on defined key figures.
• Process & SLA Assurance: Ensuring stable throughput times, compliance with all Service Level Agreements (SLAs), quality standards, and legal requirements (work safety, compliance), as well as sustainability criteria.
• Continuous Improvement: Leading or supporting process improvement and quality projects (CIP, Lean, 5S) directly on the shop floor.
• Interface Management: Close coordination with adjacent departments such as Supply Chain, Transport, HR, Finance, and central staff units.
• Reporting & Business Cases: Creation of well-founded analyses, derivation of decision proposals for operational further development, and support for operational budget and resource planning.
• Qualification: Completed degree with a focus on Logistics/Supply Chain Management, further training as a Logistics Master Craftsman, or a comparable qualification.
• Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of demonstrable leadership experience in a management position within operational contract or warehouse logistics (management of direct and indirect reports in shift operations).
• Methodological Competence: Practical experience in Lean Management, 5S, CIP, and KPI-based shop floor management.
• System Affinity: Routine handling of common Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Material Flow Systems, as well as MS Office and ideally Power BI.
• Hands-on Mentality: Pragmatic, assertive personality with high presence in the warehouse and a strong sense for team leadership in an operational environment.
• Language Skills: Business fluent German (min. C1) and good English skills (min. B2).
• Attractive Remuneration Model: Market-oriented, transparent all-in hourly or daily rate with reliable payment terms and punctual invoicing.
• High Scope for Design: Direct influence on the further development of operational logistics processes, KPI structures, and shop floor standards with fast decision-making processes.
• Leadership with Impact: Responsibility for a central operational area with 100 to 200 employees and several managers in multi-shift operations.
• Planning Security in the Project: Secured mandate with a start date of 01.11.2026 and a fixed term until 31.12.2026 – including the option for extension depending on project progress.
• Professional Interface Environment: Close, partnership-based collaboration at eye level with the management of Supply Chain, Transport, HR, and Finance.
• Efficient Onboarding: Structured handover and administrative support from our PMO, so you are fully operational from day one.
