Interpreter (m/f/d) wanted

Project overview

We are looking for interpreters for on-site assignments with public institutions and authorities in Cologne for a long-term collaboration (immigration authorities, social and senior services, youth and family support, other public institutions of the City of Cologne) - the following languages are currently particularly sought: Arabic, Dari, English, Pashto, Persian/Farsi, Russian, Urdu.

Responsibilities

You will assist in personal conversations between employees of public institutions and citizens who speak foreign languages. The activity includes consecutive interpreting on-site. If necessary, short forms, letters, or other documents can also be translated orally.

Requirements

Judicial certification and a completed interpreter degree are not required for this activity. German language skills at least at B2 level. Knowledge of the respective foreign language at least at B2 level. Experience in interpreting or language mediation. Reliable and professional demeanor. Confidentiality and responsible handling of sensitive information. Willingness to undertake on-site assignments in Cologne. To be included in the pool of interpreters designated for this project, at least two suitable references from the last two years are required.

The references must relate to interpreting or language mediation services for authorities or other public clients. Assignments you have carried out for an authority or public institution through another interpreting agency can also be considered.

The references should ideally include the following information: Client / public institution, type of interpreting service, service period, contact details of the responsible body, invoice or order value, if available.

Please send us your place of residence, offered language(s), a brief description of your previous interpreting experience, CV, if available, details of at least two previous assignments for authorities or public institutions. Any existing proof or reference documents can be sent directly.
